Today to be Cloud Technology Day for FNTS
Nebraska Gov. Pete Ricketts issued a proclamation declaring Tuesday, Aug. 25, to be Cloud Technology Day in Nebraska.
FNTS, a managed service provider, is celebrating its 25th anniversary and sought the proclamation from the Governor’s Office.
“I’d like to thank the State of Nebraska for recognizing the importance of cloud technology. Millions of Americans are embracing and utilizing the growing role of technology in how we work and learn remotely as a result of COVID-19, and cloud technology is playing a key component in making this possible,” FNTS President Kim Whittaker said in a news release “Investing in public, private and/or hybrid cloud technology, remote learning capabilities and web-based solutions is critical in advancing business, education and sustaining the economy.”
FNTS was founded in 1995 in downtown Omaha as a wholly owned subsidiary of First National of Nebraska, which also is parent company to First National Bank.
FNTS began as a startup that performed network and system implementations for businesses and provided day-to-day IT management and support services. It now operates one of the most advanced data centers in the country, according to a company news release, and has invested in cloud technology and information security, while also providing support for legacy mainframes.
“Throughout our 25 years, we have focused on building long-term partnerships with our clients to become their trusted IT adviser and an extension of their team,” Whittaker said. We support enterprises by understanding their business, providing reliable and secure IT strategies, simplifying their IT operations and enabling adoption of leading-edge technology.”
Whittaker is the company’s first female president. She has been with FNTS since 1996, transitioning from her role with First National Bank of Omaha.
