Notice is hereby given that the City Council of the City of Omaha met on May 5, 2026 and passed and approved the following ordinances:
ORDINANCE NO. 44669
AN ORDINANCE to amend the official zoning map of the City of Omaha adopted by Section 55-65 of the Omaha Municipal Code, by changing certain boundaries of the official zoning map of the City of Omaha in accordance with Section 55-886 of the Omaha Municipal Code, to rezone property located northeast of 210th Street and West Center Road from AG-Agricultural District to MU--Mixed Use District.
Summary: The official zoning map adopted by Section 55-65 of the Omaha Municipal Code be, and the same hereby is, changed and amended in accordance with Section 55-886 of the Omaha Municipal Code so that: Lots 6-9, Outlots C-H, TOWN CENTER WEST, a subdivision as surveyed, platted and recorded in Douglas County, Nebraska, are hereby rezoned from AG-Agricultural District to MU-Mixed Use District.

AN ORDINANCE declaring the necessity of acquiring, for use by the City of Omaha, the necessary private property for the purpose of constructing Cole Creek Culvert and Stream Stabilization at Hillside Drive, project identified as OPW 51146; providing that the City negotiate with the property owners for land acquisitions, permanent easements and temporary construction easements; providing that as to each specified parcel which cannot be obtained by negotiation, condemnation proceedings be undertaken and completed; and, providing for the effective date hereof.

AN ORDINANCE to amend Ordinance No. 44338 which was adopted on September 9, 2025 and accepted the bid from RTG Building Services, Inc. to provide janitorial services for Omaha Public Library Facilities; the original bid specifications contemplated that service for the new Central Library would commence during the term of the bid and that the vendor would perform janitorial services at the new Central Library; to amend the existing ordinance to approve the estimated additional annual cost of $280,800 to provide janitorial services to the Central Library pursuant to the terms established by Ordinance No. 44338; and to provide an effective date hereof.

PUBLIC HEARING NOTICES
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the City of Omaha, Nebraska, will hold public hearings on May 19, 2026, beginning at 2:00 PM in Legislative Chambers, 1819 Farnam Street, Omaha, Nebraska 68183, for the purpose of hearing testimony for:
An ordinance to authorize payment to SkyWerx Aviation for aviation fuel for the Omaha Police Department Air Support Unit helicopters, for a period of up to ten years, involving the payment of money from appropriations of more than one (1) fiscal year in accordance with Sections 5.16 and 5.17 of the Omaha Home Rule Charter of the City of Omaha, 1956, as amended; to provide for the payment to SkyWerx Aviation in an amount up to $200,000.00 a year, for an estimated total of $2,000,000.00.
An ordinance to amend Chapter 23, Article II, Division 2 of the Omaha Municipal Code, entitled “Personnel” by amending Section 23-127 to provide for an exception for city employees to engage in fund-raising activities in limited circumstances; a process for approval of the fund-raising activity by a department director and the Mayor; limitations and requirements for the fund-raising activity.
An ordinance pursuant to Home Rule Charter Section 5.17 involving the payment of moneys from appropriations of more than one fiscal year, to amend the Interlocal Cooperation Agreement between the City of Omaha and Douglas County, Nebraska, controlling the distribution of keno lottery proceeds, as previously amended and extended by Ordinance No. 38998 and 40709; to extend the Agreement for five (5) years.
An ordinance pursuant to Home Rule Charter Section 5.17 involving the payment of moneys from appropriations of more than one fiscal year, to amend the Interlocal Cooperation Agreement between the City of Omaha and the City of Milford, controlling the distribution of keno lottery proceeds; to extend the Agreement for five (5) years.
An ordinance pursuant to Home Rule Charter Section 5.17 involving the payment of moneys from appropriations of more than one fiscal year, to amend the Interlocal Cooperation Agreement between the City of Omaha and the City of Valley, controlling the distribution of keno lottery proceeds; to extend the Agreement for five (5) years.
An ordinance pursuant to Home Rule Charter Section 5.17 involving the payment of moneys from appropriations of more than one fiscal year, to amend the Interlocal Cooperation Agreement between the City of Omaha and the City of Bennington, controlling the distribution of keno lottery proceeds; to extend the Agreement for five (5) years.
