I. Call Meeting to Order- Board President Allyson Slobotski called the meeting to order at 6:02 p.m. noting the meeting is governed by the Open Meetings Act, which is available on the south end of the room.
II. Public Forum- One person from the public was present to speak.
III. Consent Agenda- Items on the consent agenda are considered routine and will be enacted under one motion. There will be no separate discussion of these items at the meeting unless a Board Member requests an item removed from the agenda for separate action. Approval of Agenda, Approval of Minutes of the Monday, February 16, 2026 - Regular Meeting, Presentation of March Bills for Approval and Payment, Personnel: Resignation(s) and Hiring of Personnel.

March 2026 Personnel Notes- Certified Staff Hire: Lily Vaughn- elementary teacher at Bennington Elementary, Ryan Kaminski - social studies teacher at Bennington High School, Whitney Johnson - elementary teacher at Bennington Elementary, Kyleigh Boever - elementary teacher at Anchor Pointe, Mallorie Yeakel - assistant principal at Pine Creek Elementary School. Classified Staff Hire: Dale McGavran - maintenance at Anchor Pointe, Mitsushi Mistudome - four hour cook at Bennington South Middle School, Meagan Kunitzer - four hour cook at Stratford, Rumika Maharjin - preschool paraprofessional at Anchor Pointe. Certified Staff Resignations: Alyssa Callahan, Adam Sempek. Classified Staff Resignations: Casey Zelfel, Morgan Selcher, Andrea Willnerd.

VII. New Business
VII.A. Discuss, Consider, and Take Action on Curriculum and Personnel Proposals- The Curriculum Committee has continued to review proposals that were highly prioritized by both the Curriculum/Proposal Committee and the Administrative/BOE Committee. The Curriculum Committee recommended the following high-ranking proposals for approval: 0.2 FTE Art Teacher, 0.2 FTE Music Teacher, 0.3 FTE PE Teacher, 0.2 FTE Media Specialist, 1.0 FTE 6th Grade Teacher.
MOTION PASSED: Motion to accept the recommendations by the Curriculum Committee for 2026-27 curriculum and personnel proposals #29, #30, #31, #33, and #21 as outlined in the February 16, 2026, Curriculum Committee Report and pending 2026-27 budget approval, passed with a motion by Kara Neuverth and a second by Joe Pick. VII.B. Discuss, Consider, and Take Action on Bids for OPW Storm Sewer and Paving Project for the Second High School Project- On February 26, 2026, Bennington Public Schools received bids for the Omaha Public Works (OPW) storm sewer and paving construction work associated with the second high school project.
MOTION PASSED: Motion to award the bid contract to Valley Corporation for $1,618,655 for OPW Storm Sewer and Paving project associated with the second high school project, passed with a motion by Allyson Slobotski and a second by Tim Dreessen. VII.C. Discuss, Consider, and Take Action on Technology Purchases- Mr. Uchtman has a five-year plan for technology purchases that is continually under review to ensure the needs of our growing student population are met. The following items were due for replacement: Document Cameras at Anchor Pointe, Mac Minis to replace the Journalism lab at Bennington High School, Box Lights to replace the current Box Lights at Anchor Pointe, Switches- the district is constantly updating switches as needed to keep up with the demands of the infrastructure and replace aging equipment.
