Back in the Summer of 2018, I wrote an article for the RE Journal saying, “It’s no secret, the days of purchasing single family homes for investment purposes has become extremely competitive and challenging for the average buyer. No doubt it’s a sellers’ market, especially in major metropolitan areas like Atlanta, Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas-Fort Worth, Phoenix, Portland, and Tampa-St. Petersburg with values appreciating in the last 12 months 8% to 25%.

Petitions to place issues on ballots, reverse decisions and laws and recall elected officials represent the power of people to have their voices heard and will reflected in state and local laws and government.

I often say one of Nebraska’s most precious resources is our children. They represent the next generation of great entrepreneurs, family farmers, doctors, police officers – you name it – that make our state the incredible place that it is. For this, they deserve our full support and care.

“I formed a business with two partners a couple of years ago. We set up a corporation and divided the stock three ways. Me and my brother each had 40% of the company, and a good friend of ours had the remaining 20%.

The second half of 2021 real estate taxes will be due and owing either this week or the next for many of you. I want to share something I have noticed recently. I have had three similar cases come across my desk in the last five weeks, which means it’s something that deserves attention. Investors who own properties that are free and clear are sometimes not receiving their tax bills from the county because they are being sent to the wrong address.
