The Omaha Streetcar Project Is Underway. Here’s What You Need To Know.

For the past few years, Mayor Jean Stothert has spoken about her plans for a streetcar for Omaha. Starting last summer, the plans were officially finalized, and the Omaha Street Car Authority was established, with the intention to have the streetcar up and running by spring 2027 according to a recent newsletter from the Omaha Streetcar Authority.

The right to counsel seems like a no-brainer, but at one time — unless charged with a capital (death penalty) case — defendants were often expected to represent themselves. But, Gideon v. Wainwright changed all that. Gideon v. Wainwright, 372 U.S. 335 (1963)

Omaha Ranks 12th For Tech Development

A new survey by CommercialCafe — an information hub for CRE news and reports — lists Omaha as 12th in the Midwest for tech development. Their study, ranking the 20 best cities across the entire Midwest for those interested in the tech field, covered multiple factors:

In March of 2022 nine-term Nebraska Senator Jeff Fortenberry was found guilty of three felony counts for making false statements to the FBI and concealing information about his campaign donations. The investigation stemmed from a campaign donation by Nigerian billionaire, Gilbert Chagoury. Through three strawmen, Chagoury donated $30,000 to Fortenberry’s campaign in 2016. When brought to court, Fortenberry denied any such contributions.

The Best Smaller U.S. Cities For Outdoor Enthusiasts

A new study by CommercialSearch, an organization focused on commercial real estate reports, has found that Omaha is in the top 10 in the small cities category for outdoor enthusiasts.
