Nebraska Supreme Court Has Oral Arguments by Telephone

The Nebraska Supreme Court is using teleconferencing for its April oral arguments to promote to avoid the spread of the coronavirus.

The sessions will be broadcast by Nebraska Educational Television, with Chief Justice Michael G. Heavican in the courtroom.

Ricketts Touts State’s Approach To COVID-19 on CNN Program

The governor said Nebraska will go its own way in choosing when to reopen for business after public health measures were implemented in the wake of the coronavirus.

Gov. Pete Ricketts responded to a question from CNN’s Jake Tapper on Sunday’s “State of the Union” about President Donald Trump’s suggestion that states like Nebraska could return to work soon.

Douglas County Clerk Requires All Marriage Licenses to Be Filed Online Through April

The Douglas County Clerk’s Office has stopped scheduling in-person appointments for marriage license applicants.

The restriction began last Friday, although appointments made this week will be honored. The office had previously closed to the public for other business.

Blair’s Carter House Emptied

Lincoln – The Three Rivers Public Health Department, working in coordination with the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, has moved residents of the Carter House assisted living facility in Blair because of an outbreak of COVID-19 in the facility.
