Experts Caution: Don’t Flush Sanitizing Wipes

Lincoln – The state Department of Environment and Energy’s Wastewater Division would like to remind people that sanitizing wipes, baby wipes and even “flushable” wipes are not flushable – regardless of what the product states.

PSC Announces $1 Million to Provide Services Due to Virus

Lincoln – The Nebraska Public Service Commission has entered Order NUSF-92 to allow carriers to seek reimbursement for providing service to low-income families as a part of the response to the COVID-19 emergency.

Unclaimed Property Remains Claimable by Mail, Website

Lincoln – Due to the COVID-19 crisis, offices of the Unclaimed Property Division of the Nebraska State Treasurer’s Office ae\re closed to the public.

Treasurer’s Office staff are available by phone at 402-471-8497 or 877-572-9688 and will continue to process claims mailed into the Lincoln office or filed online.

CRCC Offers Modified Services

CRCC Omaha will begin providing in-home care beginning today.

The organization’s two centers are closed due to COVID-19, but CRCC received a temporary respite license to provide in-home services for skilled nursing, mental health, physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech-language therapy.

Ricketts: April Will Be ‘Tough Month’ for Nebraska

Lincoln – Gov. Pete Ricketts extended Nebraska’s statewide restrictions on social gatherings last Monday until at least April 30 and urged residents to brace for another “tough month” in April, when the number of new coronavirus cases is expected to peak.

Nebraska Federal Court Allowing Video, Phone Appearances

A general order from the U.S. District Court of the District of Nebraska expanding the use of videoconferencing and teleconferencing during the pandemic.

Chief Judge John M. Gerrard is allowing judges to use those technologies to the fullest extent allowed by the recently enacted Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act.

Cases Expected to Grow as Testing Expands to More Patients

Growing numbers of cases of COVID-19 in Nebraska is largely the result of additional testing.

Testing ramped up over the last several days. Nebraska Medicine and the Nebraska Public Health Lab have both increased testing, the Douglas County Health Department said last Sunday, and CHI Health and private labs have also started to provide test results.
