NOTICE INVITING BIDS

 

Sealed bids are invited and will be received on or before the closing date/time, 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 9, 2023. Bidding documents may be found on the new Douglas County Ionwave electronic bidding website:  douglascountypurchasing.ionwave.net

Electronic bid submission:  The City of Omaha requires all bidders to submit their bids electronically.  Each respondent is responsible for taking the necessary steps to ensure their submission is received and complete by the listed closing date and time.  The City/County is not responsible for technical difficulties and will not allow late submissions due to the same.

Bids will be opened and read by the City Clerk on the closing date/time before the Bid Opening Committee and the public in LC 4, Omaha Douglas Civic Center.

As evidence of good faith and guarantee that a contract will be entered into should an award be made thereon, a certified check or bid bond in the amount of 5% of the total bid must accompany the bid.  Failure to do so will be cause for rejection.

The City of Omaha reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids.

NOTICE CANCELLING BIDS

 

The City of Omaha is cancelling the bid opening for the listed addresses.  This will be rescheduled at a later date.

The City of Omaha, acting as Agent for the owner, invites bids for the FAÇADE IMPROVEMENT OF COMMERCIAL PROPERTIES at:

 

2314 N 24th Street

2221 N 24th Street

2118 N 24th Street

Closing Time:  3:00 P.M.,

Friday August 4, 2023.

 

Licensed contractors whom are not registered as an eligible contractor for bidding may register for future projects by visiting the City’s website: https://planninghcd.cityofomaha,org/for-contractors to complete an application to meet the program requirements.

Sealed bids are invited and will be received on or before the closing time, as per specifications on file in the office of Rehabilitation Section of the Planning Department, Room 1111, Omaha/Douglas Civic Center.

Sealed bids to be addressed to Rehabilitation Section, Room 1111, Omaha/Douglas Civic Center marked “Bid on FAÇADE IMPROVEMENT OF COMMERCIAL PROPERTIES, with the address and job number identified”, must be on file in his office on or before 3:00 P.M. on the closing date, at which time the bids will be opened and ready by the Rehabilitation Section before bidders and the public in Room 1111, Omaha/Douglas Civic Center.

Attention is called to the fact that not less than minimum salaries and wages as specified by the U.S. Secretary of Labor as set forth in the specification may be paid on the rehabilitation work.  The contractor must, furthermore, insure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of race, color or creed, sex or national origin.

The bidder must file a certificate of insurance with the Rehabilitation Section evidencing comprehensive public liability insurance coverage protecting the property owner for not less than $1,000,000 per occurrence, $2,000,000 aggregate arising out of the work performed by the contractor.  Evidence of workman’s compensation insurance must be shown prior to receipt of the order to proceed with the work.

The owner reserves the right to accept, reject, or negotiate any or all bids in whole or in part.
