Published by Nikki Palmer on Thu, 09/29/2022 - 2:00am

“I run a small contracting business. I have been hired as a subcontractor on a large construction project – a 40-story downtown office building.

I am told there are more than 70 different contractors who will be working on this project. My company will be responsible for only a small piece of it.

September – Opening Retreat

The two-day opening retreat absolutely flew by, and a part of me felt like I was a kid back at summer camp. There was the initial excitement and nervousness as the retreat began, and everyone started getting to know each other.

Published by Nikki Palmer on Fri, 09/23/2022 - 12:00am

I often talk about the importance of investing in our core infrastructure. That’s things like our roads, bridges, railways, airports, drinking water systems, and ports.

But in today’s digital age, internet connectivity is just as integral to modern life as any other more “traditional” form of physical infrastructure.

Trusting Your Trustee

Published by Nikki Palmer on Thu, 09/22/2022 - 12:00am

Many real estate investors consistently use what I call a “grantor revocable title holding trust”, which is a more accurate term than “land trust”, to take and hold title to a piece of real estate they buy for investment purposes. Such trusts can be used whether the property is being held as a long-term rental or being bought as a buy, fix and resell or being resold as a quick flip. The most important component of such an arrangement is the capacity and integrity of your trustee.

Volunteers Lend Their Support To Women Seeking Abortion

Published by Nikki Palmer on Fri, 09/16/2022 - 1:00am

As she opened her car door, I could see the tears start forming in her eyes. As I walked her from the parking lot to the doors of the Lincoln Planned Parenthood health center, we both could hear the shouts from the sidewalk out front: “Don’t kill your baby!” “We can help you.” “We have information for you.”

A Letter To President Joseph R. Biden, Jr. Opposing The Student Debt Forgiveness Plan

Published by Nikki Palmer on Thu, 09/15/2022 - 1:00am

Dear Mr. President,
